On June 28, 2008, Igumen David [Villareal-Bautista], 57, fell asleep in the Lord of heart failure in Mexico City.
Born in Mazatan, Chiapas, Fr. David was ordained to the diaconate in 1974 and took monastic vows in 1976. In 1979 Fr. David was ordained to the priesthood and in 2000 he was elevated to the rank of Igumen. Fr. David was member of the monastic community of the Catedral de la Ascension del Senor and he was priest-in-charge of the mission of San German in Mazatan Chiapas.
Funeral services for Igumen David were celebrated at the Catedral de la Ascension del Senor in Mexico City.
