The 10th Assembly of the World Council of Churches opened October 30, 2013 in Busan, Republic of Korea.
Representing the Orthodox Church in America at the Assembly are His Grace, Bishop Alexander of Toledo; Professor Paul Meyendorff of Saint Vladimir’s Seminary; and Cindy Davis of the OCA Chancery, who sent the photos featured in this gallery. The OCA delegation joined the other Orthodox delegations in offering an Orthodox presence and witness at the Assembly. All Orthodox Churches except the Churches of Georgia and Bulgaria are WCC members, with the OCA delegation being the only delegation representing Orthodoxy in North America. The other Orthodox delegations are the voices of the Orthodox patriarchates and churches in Eastern Europe and Middle East, although some of their delegates come from the Orthodox “diaspora.”
