Metropolitan Tikhon pays respects to terrorist victims at DC’s French Embassy


On Saturday, November 14, 2015, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon visited the French Embassy, Washington, DC to pay respect to those who lost their lives in the multiple terrorist attacks on Paris, France one day earlier.

“On behalf of the Orthodox Church in America, I offer my condolences to the people of France, to the citizens of Paris, and to the President for this terrible tragedy endured in the land of France,” said Metropolitan Tikhon, speaking in English and French.  “We offer our prayers that indeed such events will cease and that people will come to reason and to understand that life is important and death accomplishes nothing, certainly not senseless death.”
