Albany area parishes announce Lenten Vesper schedule

— Saint Andrew’s Orthodox Clergy Brotherhood of the Capital District here recently announced its schedule of Sunday evening lenten Vesper services.

The Very Rev. Igor Burdikoff, rector of Christ the Savior Parish [OCA], Milton, NY, and Brotherhood president, will preside at the services. Area clergy will deliver the homilies. The Saint Andrew’s Pan-Orthodox Choir, directed by Michael Mellin, will sing the responses at the weekly services.

All services will begin at 5:00 p.m.

On Sunday, March 5, Vespers will be celebrated at Saint Basil Greek Orthodox Church, Troy, NY. Vespers on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, March 12, will be celebrated at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, Albany, NY. Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Troy, NY, will be the site of Vespers on Sunday, March 19, while Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Albany, NY, will host Vespers on Sunday, March 26. On Sunday, April 9, Vespers will be celebrated at Christ the Savior Church [OCA], Milton, NY. New Skete Monastery [OCA], Cambridge, NY, will be the site of Vespers on April 16, the evening of Palm Sunday.

The public is invited to attend the services, after which refreshments will be served. Donations will assist the Brotherhood’s charities and programs.
