Archbishop Peter returns to limited ministry

His Eminence, Archbishop Peter of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey of the Orthodox Church in America, recently returned to active ministry after several months of hospitalization and recouperation.

According to diocesan officials, Archbishop Peter currently is teaching a graduate level course for students at Saint Vladimir Seminary, Crestwood, NY. In light of the Archbishop’s ongoing recovery, the seminarians are shuttled to the Diocesan Center in neighboring Bronxville for classes.

It was also reported that Archbishop Peter would resume his schedule of parish visitations in the coming months, as he continues to regain his strength.

Archbishop Peter was hospitalized in August 2001 for a variety of ailments and surgery. In October, he was transferred to a private rehabilitation center prior to returning to his residence at the Diocesan Center.
