NYC Area Clergy Invited to Seminar on Islam and Christianity

— Orthodox Christian clergy in the New York City area are invited to attend a seminar on Islam and Christianity at the Immaculate Conception Center here on Thursday, March 10, 2005 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

The seminar is being sponsored for Orthodox Christian and Roman Catholic clergy by the Ecumenical and Interfaith Commission of the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn.

Presentations will be given by the Rev. Theodore Pulcini of Dickenson College, Carlisle, PA, a priest of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, and Dr. John Borelli of Georgetown University. Themes that will be explored include how Muslims perceive Christians and how Christians perceive Muslims, whether Muslims see Christians as potential converts, Islam’s misison in the world, Christian-Islamic dialogue, Islam’s theological concepts of God, and overcoming mutual fears.
