The nine-member male choir has been instrumental in reviving traditional Georgian liturgical chant, banned prior to 1989 by the nation’s communist regime. Much of their repitoire consists of recently transcribed musical manuscripts dating back over 1000 years. The choir often sings at liturgical services celebrated by His Holiness, Patriarch-Catholicos Ilia II, the primate of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
