Russian Orphan Child located: Adoption under way

Through the work of the OCA Office of Humanitarian Aid, Pasha will finally have a home in the United States.

SYOSSET, NY [OCA Office of Humanitarian Aid] — Pasha, the friendly little Russian orphan for whom the Orthodox Church in America was trying to find an adoptive home, has been located.

Pasha, who recently turned five, suffers from sacral agenesis, a rare neurological condition. He was sent from the original orphanage to an institution for older children with disabilities in a neighboring region.

“Over the past nine months more than two dozen inquiries have been made concerning the possibility of adopting him,” says Mrs. Arlene Kallaur, who works with the OCA Russian adoption program. “At present, one of the interested families who had hoped that he would be located is proceeding to adopt Pasha.”

Though the process is under way, there may yet be hurdles to overcome before Pasha is finally adopted and brought to the US. Prayers are requested for a successful adoption. His needs will be assessed and made known.

Those who would like to help the family and be part of a support group for Pasha, or who would be interested in adopting other children who because of their disabilities have little chance of being adopted elsewhere are invited to contact Mrs. Kallaur at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
