CRTL is pleased to begin the 2004 Programming Season with a very special guest, Archbishop DEMETRIOS, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in America. Archbishop DEMETRIOS will discuss with Fr. Chris and Emmy the latest catch phrase of “Spiritual but not religious”. So, what does it mean to be spiritual but not religious? His Eminence will specifically address this question and clarify that this belief is truly anti-Christian; in essence very far from Orthodox Christian beliefs. Topic: The St. Dimitri of Basarabov Program for People Dependent on Alcohol

Guest: Floyd Frantz

CRTL welcomes Floyd Frantz, Missionary in Romania with OCMC to this week’s program, as he will educate the listening audience on his missionary program in Romania, The St. Dimitri of Basarabov Program for People Dependent on Alcohol. Floyd will explain that the people in Romania did not have the basic 12 Step oriented recovery treatment programs to rely on as we do here in the United States, which led to his missionary work there to address this issue and provide such a program. Floyd explains that the Romanian community lacks the awareness of the disease concept of alcoholism and will further explain that such treatment programs have been unavailable in Romania due to the political and socio-economic history. James Kordaris of the Department of Outreach and Evangelism of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, who will discuss the need of revitalizing the faith of the active Orthodox Christians and reaching out to the inactive Orthodox Christians. Fr. Jim will focus his discussion on the importance of outreach and evangelism within the local church community renewing and sharing the Orthodox Christian Faith in America. Topic: What is so beneficial about the spring to Orthodox Christians?

Guest: Fr. Frank Marangos

Fr. Frank Marangos joins Fr. Chris and Emmy to discuss what is so unique about the spring season for the Orthodox Christians. Fr. Frank will guide us through a discussion on the three different odes of the Triodian; the pre-lenten period (spring cleaning), Great Lent (the time to reflect and consider ourselves in the desert for 40 days and 40 nights), and Holy Week (the final preparation for the Resurrection). This program will truly help us all prepare for the Resurrection as we are just entering into the Lenten Triodion period that begins this year on February 01, 2004.
