Yakima, WA orthodox school seeks classroom teacher

YAKIMA, WA [OCA Communications] — The School Board of Directors of Saint John of Kronstadt Orthodox Christian School, which is associated with Holy Cross Antiochian Orthodox Church here, has an opening for a classroom educator to begin duties in August 2006.

Both certified and non-certified teachers are invited to apply for the position, for which the starting salary range is $24,000 to $27,000 plus benefits.

Saint John’s School has been a Washington State approved private school since it opened in September 2002. The school offers an Orthodox classical education to children in grades K through 5. Plans call for the addition of one new upper grade level each year. It is anticipated that the 2006-2007 enrollment will number 14.

The school serves a flourishing Orthodox community of approximately 75 families in the more agricultural half of the state. Yakima is 145 miles southeast of Seattle, 201 miles southwest of Spokane, and 185 miles northeast of Portland, OR.
