Additional Parish Ministries Conference workshops, final schedule announced

The Orthodox Church in America’s Department of Institutional Chaplains will join four other departments that will offer workshops and presentations at the Parish Ministries Conference slated to be held at Marymount University here July 10-13, 2013.

The department’s chair, Archpriest Steven Voytovich, will offer two workshops in partnership with the Department of Christian Service and Humanitarian Aid.  The workshops will focus on professional institutional chaplaincy and parish-based visitation ministries.

The final conference schedule is available in PDF format.  It includes all conference related events, speakers, meals, and liturgical services. Workshops are listed by time and location for the benefit of local participants.

The conference theme—“Faith in Action: Equipping the Saints for Worship, Learning and Service”—will be developed by speakers and personnel from the OCA’s departments of Christian Education, Liturgical Music and Translations, and Youth, Young Adult, and Campus Ministry, in addition to those noted above. Protopresbyter Thomas Hopko will deliver the keynote address. His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon will be in attendance, preside over liturgical services, offer a workshop on teaching scripture in the parish, and lead a “Q and A” session on parish ministry topics.

Participating clergy will receive Continuing Clergy Development credits.
