Renovation of St. Tikhon’s Seminary administrative building underway

Renovations to the administrative building at Saint Tikhon’s Seminary here got underway during the last week of July 2011.

The entrances to the building will undergo a long-awaited “facelift,” while a long list of other interior and exterior renovations and improvements are in the offing.  During construction, the parking lot side entrance will offer access to the building.

As reported on the seminary web site As reported on the seminary web site in late January 2011, a private gift in the amount of $339,649.46 had been received from Mrs. Mona Marich Hanford to fund renovations to the entire administration building, the purchase of a van for use by the traveling student choir, and the purchase of a furnace for the monastery church.  Mrs. Hanford’s gift was offered in memory of her father, Frederick Marich, and her grandfather, the late Archbishop Amvrossy [Merejko].

It is anticipated that the renovations will be completed in the fall.
