Church World Service seeks Director of Community Fundraising

— Church World Service [CWS], a faith-based international humanitarian aid organization, recently opened a search for a director of community fundraising.

The senior position provides staff leadership and management of the community special event and congregational based fund raising and education programs of Church World Service. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the chief development officer and resource development department’s senior management team in formulating and approving the overall design of the resource development department.

The position carries primary responsibility for the oversight and supervision of the regional network of fund-raising programs and staff responsible for producing resources for CWS through Crop Walks, the Toos of Hope and Blanket program, “Gift of the Heart” kits, and other community and congregational fund-raising initiatives.

The director of community fundraising reports to the chief development officer and collaborates closely with the resource development committee.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of five to seven years experience in managing a widely diversified program and decentralized staff and in planning and implementing community special events and congregational-based fund-raising and education activities. He or she needs to work successfully with a diverse community.
