Cleveland Deanery to hold choral seminar and workshop

The Cleveland Deanery of the Diocese of the Midwest will present a seminar and workshop for all choir leaders, singers, readers, and anyone who has an interest in the role of singing in Orthodox Church worship on for Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Holy Trinity Church here.

The day will begin with registration at 9:00 a.m. and conclude with Vespers at 5:00 p.m. The registration fee of $20.00 (in advance) or $25.00 (at the door) includes lunch.

The main presenter of this workshop will be Prof. David Drillock, chairperson of the OCA Department of Liturgical Music and Translations. The theme of the workshop will be “Heaven and Earth! The Ministry of Song and the Worshipping Community.” Prof. Drillock will address issues concerning the chanter, the choir, congregational singing, and new directions in church music.
