Deacon John Zarras resigns as OCA Transition Officer

In a letter to His Beatitude Metropolitan Herman dated December 4, 2007, Deacon John Zarras resigned from his position as OCA Transition Officer. “I believe the work assigned to me in seeing us through the major reorganization of our Chancery offices during this past year has now been completed from a personnel perspective,” Deacon John wrote. “In the persons of the Archpriest Alexander Garklavs, the Archpriest Andrew Jarmus, and the Priest Michael Tassos you have a talented and trusted team that is ready to work with you and with each other as model servant leaders.”

Deacon John Zarras was appointed Transition Officer in December 2006, with the mandate to oversee staffing changes at the OCA Chancery Office. These changes were based on the new administrative structure formulated by the OCA Organizational Task Force and approved by the Metropolitan Council and Holy Synod in the fall of 2006.

Although leaving his position as Transition Officer, Deacon John will remain as a member of the Transition Team, under the Chair of Mr. Robert Kornafel.
