Detroit area liturgical music workshop to be held October 13

DEARBORN, MI—The Music Ministry of the Council of Orthodox Christian
Churches of Metropolitan Detroit [COCC] will conduct a two-part workshop on
the Divine Liturgy and liturgical music at Saint Clement Ohridski
Macedonian-Bulgarian Orthodox Church, 19600 Altar Rd., Dearborn, MI on
October 13, 2007.

The morning session, beginning at 9:00 a.m., is titled “The Divine Liturgy:
An Icon of Spiritual Growth,” presented by the Very Rev. Paul Jannakos,
rector of Saint Mary Magdalene Church, Fenton, MI. The afternoon session,
beginning at 1:00 p.m., is titled “Liturgical Music for Small Choirs,”
presented by Matushka Victoria Kopistiansky, chair of the COCC Music
Ministry and choir director at Holy Trinity Church, Detroit.

Lunch will be served between the two sessions.

The workshop is open to the public. The $30.00 registration fee includes
lunch and materials. On-site registration begins 8:30 a.m., but advance
registration is encouraged. Checks payable to Janet Damian, a member of the
