In Memoriam: Matushka Olga Soroka
Matushka Olga Soroka, 81, of McKees Rocks, died Monday, December 31, 2007, after a brief illness.
Born Olga Konik in Monessen, PA, she was the wife of the late Very Reverend Vladimir Soroka (+ 2005). Fr Vladimir and Matushka Olga served parishes throughout their 55 years of ministry together in Perth Amboy and Jersey City, NJ; Coaldale, Charleroi, Ambridge and McKees Rocks, PA.
Matushka Olga is survived by a daughter Donya (Paul) Yewisiak, sons Michael, Leonard, and Fr. Thomas (Joni) Soroka; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be held at Valerian F. Szal Funeral Home, 238 Helen Street, McKees Rocks, PA, on Wednesday, January 2, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with a Panikhida service at 7:30 PM. Visitation on Thursday, January 3, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 320 Munson Avenue, McKees Rocks will be from 5-7 PM with the Requiem Service at 7 PM. Divine Liturgy will be served on Friday at 10 AM at St. Nicholas Church. Burial will be held at St Tikhon’s Monastery in South Canaan, PA, on Saturday, January 5.
