OCA clergy to be featured on OCN programs

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL [OCA Communications] — Three priests of the Orthodox Church in America will offer their thoughts and insights into Orthodox Christian life regularly on upcoming Orthodox Christian Network [OCN] broadcasts, according to the Rev. Christopher Metropulos, OCN founder and executive director.

“These men are powerful teachers of the Orthodox faith, and we at OCN are honored that they have agreed to share their insights on ‘The Ark,’” said Father Metropulos. “This is the value of this new technology. We now have a powerful way to share the messages and ministry of these men with the whole country”

“The Ark,” OCN’s new 24-hour, internet-based radio outreach, is easily accessed at www.receive.org.

Among the OCA clergy slated to appear regularly on “The Ark” are the Rev. John Behr, newly appointed dean of Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Crestwood, NY; the Rev. Stephen Freeman, pastor of Saint Anne Church, Oak Ridge, TN; and the Very Rev. Thomas Hopko, dean emeritus of Saint Vladimir’s Seminary. Clergy of the Greek and Antiochian Archdioceses, including the Rev. Stanley Harakas, a well known Greek Orthodox professor, author, and pastor, also will be featured on future programs.

OCN is a commissioned agency of the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas dedicated to finding effective ways to use modern media to raise awareness of the Orthodox faith in the minds of the faithful and the general population.
