Reorganization Task Force meets with incoming Chancellor, Secretary, Ministries/Communications Director

On Tuesday, August 7, 2007, members of the Orthodox Church in America’s reorganization task force met with the Church’s newly appointed chancellor, the Very Rev. Alexander Garklavs; the director of ministries and communications, the Very Rev. Andrew Jarmus; and the secretary, Mr. Paul Bodnar. This was the first opportunity for the members of the task force and all three appointees to meet together in person to discuss several issues related to the transition of responsibilities to the new administrative team.

Roles and responsibilities of each position were reviewed, and further details of each were clarified. [For an outline of these responsibilities, see the report of the task force at https://www.oca.org/PDF/news/12.20.06.taskforce.pdf on the OCA web site.] The appointees received an update on the search for a new OCA treasurer, who will make up the fourth and final member of the administrative team.

There was also a general discussion about the process of handing over responsibilities to the new team.

All present were very positive about the outcome of this meeting, commenting on the productive and encouraging nature of their discussions.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled for the third week of August.
