St. Vladimir’s Seminary to sponsor lenten retreat March 17

CRESTWOOD, NY [OCA Communications] — The Very Rev. Paul Lazor will be the featured speaker at the annual lenten retreat sponsored by Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary here on Saturday, March 17, 2007.

Father Paul, who is the seminary’s associate dean for student affairs and lecturer in practical theology, will explore the retreat theme, “Living the Gospel Today,” through a series of talks. He will focus on the calling of all Orthodox Christians to live the unchanging Gospel of Jesus Christ in today’s ever-changing world.

The retreat will open with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at 9:00 a.m. in the seminary’s Three Hierarchs Chapel. Presentations will begin at noon and conclude at 4:00 p.m. Participants are welcome to attend the Vigil service at 6:30 p.m.

A wide variety of selections from the seminary bookstore will be available throughout the day.

There is no cost for the retreat, although an optional brunch will be available after the Liturgy for $10.00 per person.
