Metropolitan Council, Holy Synod to hold joint session

SYOSSET, NY [OCA Communications] — For the first time in decades, a joint meeting of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America will be held Monday through Wednesday, December 11-13, 2006.

On Monday, members of the Metropolitan Council will meet separately under the chairmanship of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman. On Tuesday and Wednesday, they will continue their meeting with members of the Holy Synod of Bishops.

The agenda includes a lengthy presentation by the Proskaur Rose law firm, a comprehensive report by the OCA’s reorganization task force, and the 2007 OCA budget.
