In Memoriam: His Eminence, Archbishop Kyrill of Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania, and the Bulgarian Diocese
His Eminence, Archbishop Kyrill of Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania, and the Bulgarian Diocese fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday morning, June 17, 2007.
Archbishop Kyrill, who had been in failing health for the past year, had been admitted to the hospital for treatment during the week of June 10, 2007.
On Saturday, June 16, clergy from throughout his diocese gathered at the hospital to celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Unction. Archimandrite Pitirim [Stehnach], who for many years had served as Archbishop Kyrill’s aide, was with him at the hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but will be posted as soon as they become available.
Please remember Archbishop Kyrill in liturgical and private prayer.
May Archbishop Kyrill’s memory be eternal!
