OCA donates $20,000.00 to support work of International Orthodox Christian Charities
In line with the OCA’s new Charity Appeal Distribution Guidelines, the Orthodox Church in America has donated $20,000.00 of designated charity appeal funds to help further the work of International Orthodox Christian Charities.
“Our thoughts and prayers at this time go out particularly to the people of Myanmar and China who were recently affected by natural disasters in their countries,” His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman wrote In a letter to IOCC informing them of the donation, “We hope that our contribution will help in some small way to alleviate some of the suffering caused by these devastating events.”
IOCC is the official humanitarian agency of Orthodox Christians in America, operating as an agency of the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas, of which the Orthodox Church in America is a member.
