Toronto lecture series to explore women in the church
— A four-part lecture series titled “Women in the Church” will be sponsored by the Eastern Orthodox Clergy Fellowship here in late January and February.
The first presentation, “Women Missionaries at Home and Abroad,” will be presented by Mis Frosi Papadimitriou at St. John the Compassionate Mission, 155 Broadview Ave., on Sunday, January 22, 2006.
“Women as Laity: Called To Be Both Martha and Mary” is the theme of the second lecture, to be given by Dr. Marta-Fotini Kapsalis at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 136 Sorauren Ave., on Sunday, February 5.
Dr. Mary Marrocco will lecture on “Women Saints: Past and Present” at Christ the Saviour Cathedral, 821 Manning Ave., on Sunday, February 12, while the final lecture on “Mixed Marriages from a Woman’s Perspective” will be given by Mrs. Antonia Dunn at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 3125 Bayview Ave., on Sunday, February 19.
All lectures begin at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public.
