His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon opened the Spring Session of the Metropolitan Council of the Orthodox Church in America on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Also joining Metropolitan Tikhon, the Church administration, and the elected clergy and lay members of the Council were the members of the Standing Synod of Bishops—His Eminence, Archbishop Benjamin; His Eminence, Archbishop Michael; and His Grace, Bishop Paul.
On Wednesday, February 17, Archbishop Michael celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Chancery’s St. Sergius of Radonezh before resuming plenary sessions.
