On September 5-7, 2013, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon attended the 81st Congress of the Romanian Episcopate. His Eminence, Archbishop Nathaniel warmly welcomed Metropolitan Tikhon on his first visit as Metropolitan to the Vatra, Grass Lake, MI.
On Thursday, a clergy conference was held prior to the celebratino of Great Vespers. Congress sessions were held on Friday, while on Saturday, Metropolitan Tikhon, Archbishop Nathaniel and His Grace, Bishop Irineu concelebrated the Divine Liturgy. A banquet followed.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Tikhon was presented with an icon and relic of Saint Andrei [Saguna], Metropolitan of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Transylvania, who was glorified in 2011.
