On Saturday, April 5, 2014, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, accompanied by Archpriests John Jillions and Leonid Kishkovsky, attended a service and reception for His Holiness, Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II of Antioch of the Syriac Orthodox Church of the East at Saint Mark Syriac Orthodox Cathedral, Teaneck, NJ. The Patriarch, who had served as Archbishop of the Syriac Church’s Archdiocese for the Eastern US since 1996, was elected on March 31, 2014. He will reside in Syria.
