On Friday, January 22, 2016, Metropolitan Tikhon joined tens of thousands of individuals who braved the US capital’s increasingly inclement weather for the annual March for Life. Also participating were the OCA’s Archbishop Melchisedek of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania and Archbishop Michael of New York and New Jersey; Metropolitan Evangelos of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of New Jersey; and Bishop John of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Diocese of Worcester; and numerous clergy, seminarians and faithful. The hierarchs were present on the stage of the pre-March rally held near the Washington Monument and offered prayers for the victims of abortion. See related story.
