Leaders of US Orthodox theological schools meet
On Thursday, July 9, 2009, administrators and educators from Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary [OCA], Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology [GOA], Holy Trinity Seminary [ROCOR] and Saint Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary [OCA] met at Saint Tikhon’s Monastery and Seminary here.
Present at the meeting were His Grace Bishop Tikhon of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, rector of Saint Tikhon’s Seminary; the Very Rev. Michael Dahulich, Saint Tikhon’s Dean and Director of Admissions; the Very Rev. Alexander Golubov, Saint Tikhon’s Academic Dean; the Very Rev. John Behr, Dean of Saint Vladimir’s Seminary; the Very Rev. Chad Hatfield, Saint Vladimir’s Seminary Chancellor; Mrs. Anne Glynn Mackoul, Executive Chair, Saint Vladimir’s Seminary Board of Trustees; the Very Rev. Nicholas Triantafilou, President of Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology; Deacon Nicholas Belcher, Hellenic College/Holy Cross Dean of Students; Protodeacon Vladimir Tsurikov, Holy Trinity Seminary Dean; and Mr. Sergei Jakubov, a faculty appointee at Holy Trinity Seminary for the Fall semester of 2009.
Many issues related to the common vocation of Orthodox theological schools in the US were discussed in a spirit of unity. This was the third of such meetings, with the next meeting scheduled to be held at Holy Trinity Seminary, Jordanville, NY on October 22, 2009.
