OCA represented at the Fifth Anniversary of the enthronement of Metropolitan Christopher of the Czech Lands and Slovakia
With the blessing of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah, the Orthodox Church in America was represented at the celebration of the Fifth Anniversary of the enthronement of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Christopher of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, by Archimandrite Zacchaeus [Wood], OCA Representative to the Moscow Patriarchate, on Saturday, May 28, 2011.
The celebration, highlighted by an anniversary Liturgy at which Metropolitan Christopher concelebrated with the representatives of the Local Autocephalous Orthodox Churches present, took place at Saints Cyril and Methodius Cathedral, Prague.
Representatives of other Orthodox Churches included His Eminence, Archbishop Gregorios, Church of Constantinople; His Grace, Bishop Aleksandr, Church of Russia; His Eminence, Archbishop Seraphim, Church of Georgia; His Grace, Bishop Cyprian, Church of Romania; His Eminence, Metropolitan Kirill, Church of Bulgaria; His Eminence, Archbishop Nikodimos, Church of Greece; His Eminence, Archbishop Abel, Church of Poland; and Archimandrite Justinianos, Church of Albania.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the representatives of Local Churches had the opportunity to congratulate Metropolitan Christopher on behalf of their respective Primates at a festal luncheon. On behalf of Metropolitan Jonah, Father Zacchaeus read the official congratulatory address and presented a panagia to Metropolitan Christopher, who expressed his gratitude to the entire Orthodox Church in America for “participating in these important celebrations in the life of the Local Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the Czech Lands and Slovakia.”
