13th All-American Council Executive Committee meets in Orlando, FL

Members of the Executive Committee overseeing plans for the 13th All-American Council of the Orthodox Church in America, slated to be held here in July 2002, met September 20-23 to review plans and outline the work of twelve local sub-committees responsible for various aspects of the convocation’s schedule.

Protopresbyter Robert Kondartick, OCA Chancellor, the Very Rev. Myron D. Manzuk, Council Manager, and Dr. Alice K. B. Woog, Project Manager met with the Rev. John Chudik and Stephen Gidus, local planning committee co-chairmen, the twelve chairpersons of each of the local subcommittees and the clergy from the local deanery. Thirty individuals from throughout central Florida attended the meeting to discuss the work of twelve subcommittees charged with overseeing AAC youth activities, the souvenir program book, accommodations for hierarchs, banquet arrangements, public relations, special events, registration and credentials, workbooks and materials, exhibits, secretarial needs, and other AAC needs. Fr Michael Anderson, Director of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries also chaired a meeting of the Youth & Young Adult Committee to plan events for the Council.

In the coming weeks, subcommittee chairpersons will enlist faithful from throughout the deanery to assist in ongoing planning efforts. The subcommittees will report on progress made in their respective areas at a meeting with the Preconciliar Commission in January 2002.

Under the direction of His Grace, Bishop Job of Chicago and the Midwest, Father Kondratick, and Dr. Woog, members of the Preconciliar Commission are in the process of developing materials and study guides for the AAC, the theme of which is “The Parish Community: Our Life in Christ.”
