All-American Council Hotel Booked to Capacity; rooms available at adjacent site

The Renaissance Orlando Resort, Orlando, FL, has been completely sold out for the 13th All-American Council of the Orthodox Church in America, to be held July 21-26, 2002.

“Due to the impending election of a new Metropolitan as a result of the retirement of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Theodosius, interest in the Council has been tremendous,” according to the Very Rev. John Matusiak, OCA Communications Director. “The celebration of Metropolitan Theodosius’ 25th Anniversary as Primate of the Orthodox Church in America has also generated a great deal of interest and enthusiasm.”

In order to accommodate all delegates, observers, and other attendees, arrangements have been made with the Hilton Garden Inn, adjacent to the Renaissance, for additional rooms. Reservations at the Hilton Garden may be made through the hotel’s reservation office by calling 407/354-1500. To obtain the special rates, please mention the Orthodox Church in America - 13th All-American Council.

In a related matter, the Holy Synod of Bishops has directed that all registration forms for delegates and observers must be submitted no later than June 21, 2002 to ensure proper accreditation.

Questions on these or related matters may be directed to the Very Rev. Myron Manzuk, Council Manager, at 612/781-7667 or the Very Rev. Joseph Fester, OCA Development Director, at 516-922-0550.
