Archpriest Leonid Kishkovsky honored for 40 years of pastoral service
On October 22, 2009, the Feast of the Kazan Icon of the Theotokos, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah celebrated the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Church of Our Lady of Kazan here.
Following the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Jonah presented the Order of St. Innocent, Silver Medal, to the Very Rev. Leonid Kishkovsky on the occasion of his 40th year in the Holy Priesthood. This year also marks Father Leonid’s 35th year as pastor of Our Lady of Kazan Church. During that time Father Leonid was also a member of the OCA Chancery staff.
At the OCA Chancery, Father Leonid served in several different capacities. He is especially recognized throughout the Orthodox world for his outstanding work in the field of inter-Church relations and ecumenical witness.
During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Jonah elevated the parish’s associate pastor, the Rev. John Bartholomew, to the rank of Archpriest.
