Church World Service Seeks Deputy Director for Programs

— Church World Service, Inc. [CWS], a faith-based international humanitarian aid organization, is seeking a deputy director for programs to supervise five program directors and overseas program representatives.

The deputy will be responsible for helping to maintain positive working relationships with local partners in 80 countries and in maintaining relationships with colleagues at the 36 Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican communions that make up the membership of CWS’s board of directors. He or she will report to the executive director and collaborate closely with board members from the communions that make up CWS’s governance structure.

The successful candidate will have over 15 years of increasingly responsible program management experience, demonstrated success in ecumenical environments, and experience in developing and managing government grants. Skills in facilitating group interactions and working with cross program teams is important, as well as strong communications and interpersonal skills. This person needs to work successfully with a diverse community.
