Metropolitan Herman to Attend Inauguration of President George Bush

— His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, will be seated with other national religious and civil leaders at the 55th inauguration ceremonies during which US President George W. Bush and Vice-President Richard B. Cheney will take their oaths of office on the steps of the US Capitol, Washington, DC, at noon on Thursday, January 20, 2005.

The following morning, Friday, January 21, 2005, Metropolitan Herman will join other religious and government leaders at the Washington National Cathedral for a prayer service at 10:00 a.m. President Bush and Vice-President Cheney will be in attendance. Prior to the service, Metropolitan Herman will attend a private meeting with the President and Vice-President.

On the eve of the inauguration, Metropolitan Herman, together with His Eminence, Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will attend a private dinner.
