OCA Treasurer Search Committee to meet June 22
The Very Rev. Matthew Tate, chairman of the Orthodox Church in America’s Metropolitan Council Finance Committee, will chair a meeting of the Treasurer Search Committee here June 22, 2009.
Other committee members include the Very Rev. Alexander Garklavs, Chancellor; the Rev. Michael Tassos, who recently stepped down as Treasurer; the Very Rev. Joseph Gallick; and Melanie Ringa. His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah will also join the committee in their discussions.
The Search Committee will review the duties and responsibilities of the OCA Treasurer as outlined in the Statute of the Orthodox Church in America. The findings and recommendations of the OCA Organizational Task Force and the high standard of financial management effected by Father Tassos during his nearly two-year tenure as Treasurer will also be given serious consideration.
Additional information concerning the search for a new OCA Treasurer will be released after the meeting.
