On Thursday, April 31, 2014, Protopresbyter Thomas Hopko and the nuns of the Orthodox Monastery of the Transfiguration in Ellwood City, PA, along with employees of Summers Construction and Constantine Kayafas Architects, celebrated the blessing and installation of the cross on the monastery’s new chapel.

The cross matches one installed last year on the new bell tower, and another installed several years ago on the outdoor Saint Elizabeth Chapel Pavilion.

The nuns said the construction team treated the job “like it was their own home.”  Construction for this phase of the project should be complete by summer, said Mother Christophera, Abbess.
