Escondido, CA’s Martha and Mary House seeks house director
Martha and Mary House here, an Orthodox Christian maternity home, is seeking a strong, female Orthodox Christian house director to fulfill the critical need to minister to women seeking adoption in anonymity.
The ideal candidate must be an Orthodox Christian in good standing, financially stable, self-sufficient and unencumbered by outside priorities. Experience in fundraising, public speaking and community outreach is essential. Candidates should possess the ability to manage a household and screen potential clients, as well as coordinate activities with adoption agencies, adopting parents and professional counselors.
“As far as I know, Martha and Mary House is the only Orthodox house at present in the entire country for mothers wishing to give up their children for adoption and avoid an abortion,” said Priest Andrew Cuneo of St. Katherine of Alexandria Mission, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA. “In other words, it’s one of our few public efforts to be pro-life in practice as well as speech.”
It is hoped that the position will be filled before December 1, 2012.
