PaTRAM Institute summer choral master class announced

A mixed choir and conductor’s class titled “Ancient Spirituality, Living Voices” will be offered by the Patriarch Tikhon Russian American Institute [PaTRAM] at Saint Tikhon’s Monastery and Seminary here June 30- July 3, 2014.

The class will be under the direction PaTRAM’s Artistic Director, Maestro Vladimir Gorbik.  In addition, Igumen Sergius, Abbot of Saint Tikhon’s Monastery, will offer daily talks on the spiritual importance of Church singing.  Hence, the programwill not only focus on technical training in the area of liturgical music, but serves as a spiritual retreat.

Sessions are open to all singers, conductors and faithful in general.

Following the program, participants are invited to participate in an optional pilgrimage to nearby Taylor, PA for a private visit to venerate two myrrh-streaming icons of the Mother of God at Saint George Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church.
