Update on Colorado Springs fire
As of Thursday, June 28, 2012, the Waldo Canyon fire threatening much of Colorado Springs had spared Saints Constantine and Helen/Holy Theophany Church.
To date, over 30,000 area residents have been evacuated.
Archpriest Anthony Karbo, rector, reported that the evacuation borders were within a couple of blocks of the church. The faithful have been praying the Supplicatory Canon to the Theotokos each night, even though the air near and in the church was thick with smoke.
So far, Father Anthony added, there is no word as to whether or not any parishioners have lost their homes. However, there are parishioners who live in the evacuation zone.
