“Who is My Neighbor” theme of new edition of “Wonder” blog

A new edition of “Wonder” — the on-line journal of the Orthodox Church in America’s Department of Youth, Young Adult, and Campus Ministry — is now available.

This month’s theme, “Who is My Neighbor?” features reflections on the lawyer’s question to Jesus in the tenth chapter of Saint Luke’s Gospel.

In “Meeting our Neighbors” by Khouria Amy Toconita Hodge shares several personal stories of meeting her neighbors in various circumstances. Julie Ann Miller shares her experience of teaching her daughter about Christ’s command to love our neighbors. Alex Langley finds neighbors in unexpected places in his article. Lastly, Matushka Vera Proctor reflects on unexpected help from a neighbor in her article,”Showing Mercy or Mercy Received?

The theme of the next edition — “The Vision of the Orthodox Church in America ” — will focus on the unique calling, ministry, and history of our Church. Deadline for submissions is June 20, 2013.
