Winter retreats for youth, young adults announced

The Department of Youth, Young Adult, and Campus Ministry announces several upcoming winter retreats for youth and young adults.

Jersey City, NJ - “ONE” 1st Annual Orthodox Youth Conference

The Pope Kyrillos Coptic Bible Study and Fellowship will host its first annual Pan-Orthodox Conference at Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, NJ. The topic for the day-long conference will be “Becoming Human” and will feature Archpriest John Behr, Dean of Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, as the speaker. Pharr, TX- 8th Annual Winter Service Retreat

Saint George Church, Pharr, TX is hosting its 8th annual Winter Service Retreat for older teens and young Adults. Running from Friday, December 28 through Thursday, January 3, this retreat will feature speakers on the theme, “Why Become (or Remain) Orthodox? How Do We Stand Up for & Live the Faith?” along with service projects at the Saint George Food Pantry, worship, and fellowship. Mitchell, IN- St. John’s Camp Winter Retreat

The Diocese of the Midwest’s Saint John Summer Camp in Indiana will host its winter retreat for those in 9th grade and above. The retreat will run from December 27 through December 30 at Camp Riverdale in Mitchell, IN. As usual, the retreat will feature worship, singing, education, and fellowship. Dunlap, CA- College Conference West

The Orthodox Christian Fellowship will host its annual College Conference at St. Nicholas Ranch here in Dunlap, CA from December 27-30. The theme for this year’s conference is “Trust in the Power and Love of God”.  The main speaker will be Hieromonk Damascene [Christensen] from Saint Herman of Alaska Monastery in Platina, CA. Workshops will also feature Dr. Sally Gallagher, a sociology professor, and Mr. Jonathan Jackson, and emmy-award winning actor. Registration and more information can be found here.

Bolivar, PA- College Conference East

OCF will again host their sister conference on the East Coast at Antiochian Village in Bolivar, PA. Running December 28-31, the theme also will be “Trust in the Power and Love of God.” The main speaker will be Archpriest Alexander Atty, Dean of Saint Tikhon’s Seminary.
