16th All-American Council updates; registration deadline August 1

Archpriest Eric G. Tosi, Secretary of the Orthodox Church in America, recently released information concerning a variety of matters regarding the 16th All-American Council October 31 through November 4, 2011.

Registration.  The deadline is August 1, 2011.  Registration forms, information on booking flights, and related information may be downloaded from www.oca.org/news/2556 and www.oca.org/news/2454.

Agenda.  While the final hour-by-hour agenda is still in process, highlights include

  • tours to Seattle area parishes and Orthodox sites, including the parish in Wilkinson, will be available on Saturday and Sunday, October 29-30.
  • the celebration of the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, October 30.
  • the convocation of assemblies by the Dioceses of the West, South and Midwest on Monday, October 31, prior to the Council’s first plenary session that evening.
  • two breakout sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, November 1-2.  Registrants should indicate in which working groups they wish to participate.

The final session will be held on the morning of Friday, November 4.

Resolutions and reports.  Resolutions are due on August 30.  Additional information is posted at www.oca.org/news/2502.  Council reports will be posted on-line 30 days prior to the opening of the Council.

A Pilgrimage to Sitka, Alaska will be available Friday through Sunday, November 4-6, offering a wonderful opportunity to visit the city’s Archangel Michael Cathedral and other historic Orthodox sites.  Information and forms are now available in PDF format HERE.
