Diocese of the South Episcopal Search Committee begins its work
As announced on the web site of the Diocese of the South of the Orthodox Church in America on June 10, 2011, His Grace, Bishop Nikon, Locum Tenens of the Diocese, with the consent of the Diocese’s Deans, have established procedures with regard to the search for a candidate to fill the Diocese’s vacant Episcopal See.
Bishop Nikon and the deans developed the procedures at their meeting in Mt. Pleasant, SC May 30-31, 2011.
A time line leading to the election of a diocesan bishop at a special Diocesan Assembly in February 2012 was also established.
