Metropolitan Council Charity Committee forwards $5000 donation to IOCC

The Charity Committee of the Metropolitan Council of the Orthodox Church in America recently approved and sent a $5,000.00 donation to International Orthodox Christian Charities for its ongoing relief and recovery efforts.

The donation to IOCC is the second approved by the Charity Committee in nearly three months. On March 16, 2011, the Charity Committee announced that $5,000.00 had been sent to IOCC to assist its efforts in Japan. [See www.oca.org/news/2471.]

“In its nearly 20 years of ministry, IOCC has in visible and tangible ways helped countless individuals the world over in time of crisis, war, and other suffering,” said His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah. “IOCC’s most recent efforts in Japan—and now across the southern US states—demonstrate its ability to respond efficiently to the most serious of human needs, even at home. We join the thousands of individuals, families, and parishes that have consistently supported IOCC’s efforts, especially in light of the mounting needs during the past few months.”

Additional contributions to IOCC’s efforts are always welcome. All contributions should be sent directly to IOCC—not to the OCA Chancery—at PO Box 630225, Baltimore, MD 21263-0225. Individual donations may be made on-line at www.iocc.org or by calling toll free at 877-803-4622.
