Parish Background

St. Basil the Great Orthodox Mission was started in 2006 when several families in the Wilmington area inquired with the OCA about the possibility of starting an English language mission of the Orthodox Church in America in the region.  After meeting occasionally, and being served by deanery clergy for several years, the mission has had a resident priest since 2010, and maintains regular ministries and services.  The community is comprised of a diverse group of families and individuals, and welcomes all who are interested to “Come and See!”
