The Resurrectional Kanon in Tone 6 is now available in two settings: Imperial Court Chant from L'vov-Bakhmetev and Lesser Znamenny Chant from Klimov-Lebedev. Both settings can be found here. In addition, the Stichera at the Praises for the Third Sunday of Lent, to the Model melody “As one valiant” have been revised, correcting some irregularities in the phrasing and harmonization.
The order of Liturgical services.
Texts of the propers sung at Vespers (stichera on “Lord I call,” Litya, Aposticha, Troparia and Kontakia that change daily according to either the day of the week or particular day of the month). Texts are “pointed” to be sung according to the tonal patterns of Common Chant (L'vov-Bakhmetev Obikhod, 1869 edition).
Liturgical music for daily worship during the year.
A self-study tool that introduces the singer to the eight tones of Common and Kievan Chant. Illustrates tonal patterns for singing stichera. Future sections will treat psalm verses, troparia, and kanons. Includes audio demonstrations.
In 2021, Dr. Vladimir Morosan, a member of the OCA Department of Liturgical Music and noted Orthodox composer, editor, publisher, and choir director, offered a series of four webinars dealing with the services of Great Lent and Holy Pascha. Each session addresses a particular subtopic.
In 2006, the Orthodox Liturgical Music Chatroom was inaugurated and was open on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month throughout 2006 and 2007. At each session, a “specialist” or “moderator” led a discussion related to church music, hymnology, vocal technique, church rubrics, church music for children, setting music to English, etc.
