Bishop Savas among Speakers at Saint Vladimir’s Seminary High School, College Christmas Retreat

—His Grace, Bishop Savas of Troas, Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, will be among the speakers at the annual Christmas retreat for high school and college students at Saint Vladimir’s Seminary here December 27-29, 2004.

The conference theme, “The Passion of the Christ,” will focus on Our Lord’s crucifixion and death and include a screening of Mel Gibson’s recent film of the same name. Lectures, talks, and guided discussion of the film in light of the Orthodox Christian tradition will provide a wealth of insights on the crucified and risen Christ and His work of salvation.

Other speakers include the Rev. Dr. John Behr, SVS professor of Patristics, and Dr. Peter Bouteneff, SVS assistant professor of Dogmatics.

The retreat will also feature liturgical services and opportunities for fellowship, including an exciting outing.

The registration fee, which includes room, board, and the outing, is just $65.00. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses.
