Donor yet to be found for OCA parishioner in need of kidney transplant

On January 30, 2003, the Orthodox Church in America issued a second request for a potential kidney donor for Miss Priscilla Sirilla, 62, a member of Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Campbell, OH.

“While a number of individuals did respond to an appeal made in November 2002, a suitable donor has yet to be found,” said the Very Rev. John Matusiak, OCA Communications Director. “Having no living family members, Miss Sirilla is hoping to find a donor with type A or O blood. The donor would have to travel to Ohio for the procedure, which is done laparoscopically.”

Miss Sirilla, who has been waiting for a transplant for over three years, continues to undergo regular dialysis treatment.

Potential donors are urged to contact Anna Marie Ottney by calling 330/480-3642 or by sending an e-mail to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
