Metropolitan Jonah to give presentation on monastic spirituality at annual conference
His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah will be one of several Orthodox Christian speakers at the 13th Orientale Lumen Conference, to be held June 15 to 18, 2009.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Monastic Spirituality for Everyday Life.”
Other Orthodox presenters at the conference include His Eminence, Metropolitan Kallistos [Ware]; Dr. Richard Schneider, Professor and Director of the Orthodox Eastern Christian Studies Program at Trinity College, University of Toronto — also a former member of the OCA’s Metropolitan Council — and Mr. Elias Damianakis, an iconographer and lecturer from Tampa Bay, FL.
Sponsored by Eastern Christian Publications and the Society of Saint John Chrysostom, the Orientale Lumen conferences encourage dialogue between Eastern Orthodox Christians and Roman and Eastern Rite Catholics.
